Business by the Book
Proverbs 17:8 A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
I Corinthians 7:7 states: …every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner,… Even the most agnostic of souls have used or heard the term “God-given ability.” The ability that God gives is a gift of God. Paul is sure to tell the people of the church in Corinth that every man has been gifted by God in some area. Some have intellectual gifts, some spiritual gifts, some gifts of craftsmanship, some of artistry, some of personality, some of music, and so many others that they cannot all be named.
Finding the gift that God has bestowed upon a person is usually not difficult. It’s quite apparent; it is usually that thing that they enjoy, that they gravitate to. That gift is one from God, one that He has given so that a person may prosper in the use of the gift. However the gift is used it will prosper. Consider the gift of management or administration. This gift can be used in legitimate business or in illegal enterprises. It can be used in both money making ventures and in volunteer settings such as a church or a community service of some sort. However it is used it will prosper. J0seph is a perfect example of a person with the gift of management. In Potiphar’s house, in prison, and while being second in command only to Pharaoh, Joseph’s gift prospered.
You too have a gift. Something God has given to you from birth that can bring you prosperity. Usually extremely successful people are so because they have found their gift and maximized the use thereof. These individuals may not even believe in God, but nonetheless, they have been given a gift from God, for He believes in them. Find that gift; use it for the glory of the God who bestowed that gift upon you and also for personal prosperity. Any which way you turn, your gift will be profitable. The giving of the gift is God’s choice; the using of the gift is your responsibility. Use it and watch it shine as a precious stone in the eyes of its beholder.
