Minding Your Thoughts
A Biblical Overview of Obtaining and Maintaining a Biblical Thought Life
Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Reading the Bible is the best antidote for being “otherwise minded” concerning the things of God. “The Bible is not a book that men read; it is a book that reads men.” No one knows who said that originally, but it sure is a good quote. Many times in life ideas, thoughts, notions, concepts, and designs work their way into the thought process that may or may not be in agreement with the revealed Word of God. By reading the Word those ideas, thoughts, notions, concepts and designs are evaluated, examined, and if needed eliminated.
Become a student of the Word of God or increase your study of the Word of God; develop a dependency on its principles, precepts, and promises. By doing so, this thing of being “otherwise minded” will not become your testimony. The prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (as mentioned by Paul in the verse before today’s verse) may become yours. What a thought!
May the Lord bless and be pleased with your thought life today.
